Emergency Kits

Some areas are having nice weather now but does not mean one should not be prepared for any unexpected emergency!  Resolve to be better prepared in 2014. Although preparing your property for severe weather is important, don't forget to update your basic emergency supply kit. Find out if your kit is missing anything using information from the Federal Emergency Management Agency:


EMERGENCY SUPPLY KIT

• One gallon of water per person per day for at least three days.
• At least a three-day supply of non-perishable food.
• Radio and extra batteries.
• Flashlight and extra batteries.
• First aid kit.
• Whistle to signal for help.
• Dust mask.
• Moist towelettes, garbage bags and plastic ties.
• Wrench or pliers to turn off utilities.
• Manual can opener for food.
• Local maps.
• Cell phone with chargers, inverter or solar charger.
